Hunter Mill vs. Donaldson Run
July 24, 2010
In their final NVSL Division III swim
meet of the season, the Hunter Mill Sharks edged the
Donaldson Run Thunderbolts 220 to 182. The win puts
Hunter Mill in a tie for the Division 3 crown with
Fairfax. The Thunderbolts took an early lead after
freestyle but Hunter Mill rallied in the back and breast
events. Though Donaldson Run fought back by outscoring
the Sharks in the butterfly events, Hunter Mill managed
to maintain its lead. The Sharks won the meet by taking
7 of the relays. The winning points were achieved by the
13-14 girls medley relay (Cori Ritchey, Rachel
Kim, Julia Hines, and Christine Mayuga).
Double winners for Hunter Mill
included Jacob Freck (13-14 boys free and back),
Kaitlin Pawlowicz (15-18 girls back and fly), and
Sean Fletcher (15-18 boys free and back).
The high point achieving age group for
the Sharks were the 15-18 year olds winning 52 out of a
possible 82 points in their events.
The Sharks registered sweeps in the
8&U girls free (Elinor Frothingham, Riley
DeLacy, Caitlin Blankenship), the 9-10 boys
back (James Frucht, Connor Cuevo, Eric
Link) and the 11-12 boys back (Jordan Myles,
Kamron Sarmadi, Jackson Ayers), the 9-10
boys breast (Ian Cobb, Ben Osborne,
Brendan Furness), and the 13-14 girls fly (Julia
Hines, Audrey Caprio, Christine Mayuga).
Thirty-nine Shark swimmers achieved 50
personal bests in the meet. The most improved Shark was
Alexandra Dicks who dropped 4.45 seconds off her
previous best in the 9-10 girls butterfly.

Hunter Mill vs. Fox Mill Woods
July 17, 2010
In a NVSL Division III swim meet, the
Hunter Mill Sharks topped the Fintastics of Fox Mill
Woods 231 to 171. Hunter Mill jumped to an early lead
after freestyle but the Fintastics held their ground in
the next three strokes. The Sharks finished the meet by
taking 8 relays for the final total. The winning points
were achieved by the 11-12 boys medley relay (Jordan
Myles, Ross Kolko, Benjamin Caprio,
and Nicholas Yano).
Double winners for Hunter Mill
included Lauren Teuschl (8&U girls back and
breast), Mark Frucht (8&U boys free and back),
Giovanna Moriarty (9-10 girls back and fly),
Chandler Rouse (11-12 girls free and fly),
Michelle Abt (11-12 girls back and breast), Jacob
Freck (13-14 boys free and breast), Kaitlin
Pawlowicz (15-18 girls back and fly), and Sean
Fletcher (15-18 boys free and fly).

the Sharks were the 11-12 year olds winning 60 out of a
possible 82 points in their events.
The Sharks registered sweeps in the
8&U boys free (Mark Frucht, John Link,
Aidan Myles) and the 11-12 boys free (Jordan
Myles, Nicholas Yano, Benjamin Caprio).
Thirty seven Shark swimmers achieved
50 personal bests in the meet. Maggie Perry
improved the most by dropping 4.9s in the 9-10 girls
backstroke resulting in a third place finish.

In a NVSL Division III swim meet, the
Hunter Mill Sharks topped the Dunn Loring Dolphins 227
to 175. Hunter Mill established a lead after the
freestyle events and managed to maintain it through the
remaining strokes. They sealed the win by taking 8 of
the 12 relays. The winning points were achieved by the
13-14 boys medley relay (Eric Kim, Jacob Freck,
Garrett Brown, Blake Curl).
Double winners for Hunter Mill
included Lauren Teuschl (8&U girls back and
breast), Jacob Freck (13-14 boys free and
breast), Kaitlin Pawlowicz (15-18 girls free and
fly), and Sean Fletcher (15-18 boys free and
fly).

possible 82 points in their events.

girls free (Kaitlin Pawlowicz, Ryan Umberger,
Sami Fletcher), and the 15-18 girls fly (Kaitlin
Pawlowicz, Madeleine Bourne, Alex Hegerle).
Shark swimmers achieved 13 personal
bests in the meet.

The meet was close through the butterfly events but
Hunter Mill pulled ahead in the relays. The winning
points were achieved by the 15-18 boys medley relay (Eric
Chestnut, Michael Chestnut, Sean Fletcher,
Eric Nasakaitis).
Double winners for Hunter Mill
included James Frucht (9-10 boys free and fly),
Zachary Dickson (9-10 boys back and breast),
Jordan Myles (11-12 boys free and back), Jacob
Freck (13-14 boys free and back), and Sean
Fletcher (15-18 boys back and fly).
The Sharks registered sweeps in the
9-10 boys free (James Frucht, Brendan Furness,
Eric Link) and breast (Zachary Dickson,
Ian Cobb, Ben Osborne), the 11-12 boys
backstroke (Jordan Myles, Kamron Sarmadi,
Jackson Ayers), the 13-14 boys breaststroke (Eric
Kim, Garrett Brown, Nathan Pawlowicz),
and the 15-18 girls backstroke (Ryan Unberger,
