Hunter Mill Swim and Racquet Club is a
private club providing recreation facilities for members and their
guests. There will most likely be no further leases offered this
summer, though one or two additional leases may be offered via email if
they become available to names in the order they appear on the wait
list. Membership is at the invitation of the Board of Directors. Anyone interested in joining should complete a
membership application and send it with the wait list fee to Hunter Mill
Swim and Racquet Club (HMSRC). Please refer to the wait list policy
below. If you have additional questions, you may contact the membership
director at
membership@huntermill.org.

Membership Types - Once a wait list participant is
offered a membership, they may select one of two types of membership -
Full Membership or Absentee Membership. The wait list fee is credited
toward the one-time Membership Fee.
| Full Membership |
A Full Membership entitles all
members of a household use of the Hunter Mill Swim & Racquet
Club facilities within the guidelines of the By-Laws and Rules
and Regulations. Membership requires a one-time, non-refundable
Membership Fee. In addition to the Membership Fee, the Member
must also pay the Annual Dues. Invoices for Annual Dues are sent
to all active Members in February of the current year.
Membership runs on a calendar year (January – December). The
Member retains their membership privileges for as long as they
continue to pay their annual dues. |
| Absentee Membership |
In the event a Full Member
does not want to attend the Club during a season, the member is
required to obtain Absentee status for that year. The Member
should complete the
Membership Application Form and mail it with
the Absentee Fee to the Club. During the Absentee period, the Member has given up their right to access the facilities. Full
Membership is restored upon payment of the Annual Dues in the
following year. A Member may obtain Absentee Membership status
for up to three consecutive years. |
Membership Lease - Lease
Membership allows an interested family to use the pool and tennis
facilities as a member for one year. After the one year lease period, if
the family wishes to join as a full member and the Club has a membership
to offer at that time, they must pay the one-time, non-refundable
Membership Fee and then also pay the Annual Dues for that season. Lease
Membership does not guarantee a membership will be available for the
following year. If a lease member wishes to be considered for membership
they need to submit a
Membership Application Form to be put on the wait
list, as memberships are offered based on the date the application and
wait list deposit are received.
Wait List - If there are no Memberships available at the
time a membership application is received, the prospective Member is
placed on the Club's wait list. The wait list is handled on a first-come, first-served
basis. If an individual or family is interested in being placed on the
wait list for membership, the
Membership Application Form
must be completed. The Wait List fee and membership application must be
sent to the Club. Those on the wait list will be notified by phone or
e-mail when a membership becomes available. If the Full Membership is
accepted, the Wait List fee will be applied to the one-time,
non-refundable membership fee.
Membership Retirement - If a member is planning to retire from
the Club, the member should send an email notification to
membership@huntermill.org. The Club will then offer the membership to the
first family on the wait list, who must pay the one time Membership Fee. There
is no longer a retirement incentive.
Membership Conveyance - A
membership to HMS&RC may be an attractive selling feature for a home of a
current member who is moving away from the area. The Board recognizes this
and will allow a member to convey their membership to the purchaser of their
home under the following conditions:
-
The member must inform the Club of the
intention to convey the membership to the home purchaser.
-
The member and the purchaser must each
send a letter (or
e-mail) to the Club acknowledging the conveyance of
the membership. The member is required to provide the name of the home
purchaser and the effective date of the transfer.
-
The purchaser of the home must pay the
Club the one time Membership Fee in effect at the time of sale within
30 days of closing on the home.
Members who are planning to retire may
