Welcome to the 2012 Season
By Tim DiCintio, President
Happy 2012! I wanted
to send a note to let you know the Board is gearing up
in earnest for the 2012 pool season. Some of the key
items that require your attention, as well as an update
on the main things the Board has been working on since
the close of the 2011 season, are listed below.
As always, please
don't hesitate to contact me or the other Board members
with any suggestions for operating the Club.
Thanks for your
attention to the items below and enjoy the Spring!
Best, Tim DiCintio
President, HMS&RC
1. Membership Dues
Notices were e-mailed within the last week. Please look
for the e-invoice and remit payment as soon as you can!
Prompt payment truly helps our financial management of
the Club. We'll be following up with hard copy invoices
later in March only for those Members that don't respond
to their e-invoice. Like everyone else these days, the
Club is trying to go as paperless as possible! (And a
special thank-you to all those who have paid already.)
2. If you plan to
cancel your Membership or go on 'absentee' status for
2012, please also let us know as soon as you can by
sending an e-mail to
Membership@huntermill.org.
3. We're really trying
to improve overall communications with the Membership
and make sure we can reach folks when necessary. To that
end, we're asking that everyone check the accuracy of
their e-mail address as shown on their invoice, and if
possible supply two (2) different e-mail addresses for
Club communications so we can be sure that we're
reaching everyone effectively. And thanks to those that
have already added and/or corrected e-mail information!
4. Winter Swim has
been a great success thus far. The Swim Team will go
'live' with online registration for the summer season in
early April - look for a note from the Swim Team
representatives soon with all the details.
5. While we expect
another year of robust membership, we are
accepting applications for our wait list for 2012 and
may be able to fill a few membership openings if some of
our current members retire this year. So if you have
friends or neighbors who are thinking of joining a pool,
please encourage them to send in an application as soon
as possible!
6. We got lots of
positive feedback on the various social events last
summer. With an eye toward another season of fun
activities, we're requesting volunteers to help from
time to time with planning and executing some of the
events. No Royal Weddings or anything, but we could
definitely use occasional help with planning, shopping,
setting up, and cleaning up. If you're interested in
helping out, please e-mail
Social@huntermill.org soon!
7. A couple of
facilities notes: we had a tree company clear lots of
brush and vines from around the Club, so hopefully
everyone will enjoy the cleaner and safer "look" around
the property. Also, we continue to work on the drainage
issue in front of the Club's main door and hope to have
a solution - and avoid our usual post-rainfall lakes
there - well before opening day.
9. Opening Day will be
Saturday, May 26 -- see you then at the pool!
